Streaming at 1080p adds real CPU load. A machine that struggles is usually one trying to encode 1080p on four cores while PowerPoint renders a slide — drop the broadcast to 720p and it will settle.

Also needed

  • A projector or large screen on its own HDMI output. The only extra screen the app truly needs.
  • PowerPoint — a real installed copy, not the web version. Slide control, the slide grid and the slide editor talk to it directly.
  • Optional: a platform monitor, choir monitor, foyer screen, a switcher such as an ATEM Mini (it arrives as an ordinary webcam), a USB audio interface, and Wi-Fi for phone remotes.

Already inside the installer

FFmpeg, which does the actual streaming. You do not download it, install it or configure a path. If your church has its own build it would rather use, point at it and your choice wins.

The 695 hymns of the SDA Hymnal and the bundled scripture text, seeded into a local database on first launch. Both are covered on the acknowledgements page.

Windows will warn you about the publisher

The installer is not code-signed, so Windows says the publisher is unrecognised. Click More info → Run anyway.

Installing

  1. Run Lumina-Sanctuary-Setup-1.8.0.exe.
  2. It installs for the current user, creates a desktop shortcut and a Start Menu entry, and launches. There is nothing to choose.
  3. On first launch you will see the splash screen for a few seconds while about 31,000 Bible verses are loaded into the local database. This happens once.

Updates after that download quietly in the background and install when you close the app — never mid-service. See release notes.
